Wednesday, November 29, 2006 –We are thrilled to announce the release of Issue 8: To Protect and Serve, for City of Heroes and City of Villains. This marks the eighth free expansion to City of Heroes since its release in April 2004.
City of Heroes . City of Tomorrow . Since 1931, when a prodigal son returned with the powers of an ancient god and called himself Statesman, Paragon City has been the center of the super-powered hero universe. Through the efforts of Statesman and those who joined him in the war against tyranny and crime, Paragon City truly became a beacon and inspiration for heroes world-wide. A true city of heroes. .
Supergroups are similar to 'Guilds' or 'Clans" found in other mmorpg's and can open a new aspect of the game for players. If you have Heroes & Villains you get access to a Supergroup base which can be decked out in many ways and used for PvP "Raids" on Villain bases along with specific missions/quests. You will ONLY recieve "Salavage" in-game if your Supergroup has a base.
You can earn "Prestige" for you Supergroup all of which helps pay for improvements and upgrades. Yet another enriching aspect to the game.
